Hsinchu Du Cheng Huang Temple

新竹都城隍廟創建於1748年， 1875年故城隍爺晉升為府城隍－威靈公，有「新竹城隍爺，北港媽祖婆」的稱譽，其廟宇規模在當時是全台之最。新竹都城隍廟當地的盛事為每年農曆七月的迎城隍活動，七月十五中元節當日是活動的最高潮，由城隍爺本尊出巡，出巡隊伍長達數公里，人山人海，熱鬧非凡。

Hsinchu Du Cheng Huang Temple was established in 1748. In 1875, the temple's majestic figure, Chenghuang Ye, was promoted to the role of Fucheng Chenghuang – Weiling Gong. There is a saying: "Hsinchu Cheng Huang Ye, Beigang Mazu Po," to signify the reputation of Chenghuang Ye by comparing it to another highly influential majestic character, the Mazu. At that time, It was the largest temple in Taiwan. A major local event at the Hsinchu City Cheng Huang Temple is the Annual Welcoming of Cheng Huang Ye in the lunar month of July. The festival culminates on 15 July, the Ghost Festival, when Chenghuang Ye parades through the streets. The parade team can reach several kilometers and attract massive crowds, resulting in a vibrant and sparkling atmosphere.
